iD Mobile is a UK mobile provider using the Three network. Check iD service rules rather than assuming all Three products match. Account tools: iD Mobile app. Check the brand named on your actual agreement before using an app or contacting support. Network arrangements can change; avoid assuming two brands share identical allowances or account access.
Which company is named on your contract and who issues the bills?
A closer look at iD Mobile
iD Mobile offers both recurring plans and Pay As You Go information, so check the exact product rather than assuming one payment model. Its support pages explain eSIM, roaming and account controls separately. When considering a handset deal, read credit terms and a possible upfront contribution.
Which of these features actually applies to the tariff you have selected?
SIM-only and pay as you go
A SIM-only plan gives you mobile service without bundling a new handset. For iD Mobile, compare monthly allowance, the minimum term, any promotion end date and what happens if you use all your data. If a pay as you go option is available for your chosen product, check top-up expiry, bundle renewal and what rates apply outside a bundle. An advertised unlimited allowance may still carry roaming or fair-use limits.
What is the total commitment, and what happens after the promotional period?
Phone plans and upgrades
Handset deals may include credit and eligibility checks. Ask for the full handset repayment schedule, initial payment, airtime price and the cost of leaving each agreement. Upgrade marketing may depend on eligibility, returned-device condition or an outstanding balance. Do not treat a device instalment as the same thing as a network service charge.
If you upgrade today, what existing balance will still be due?
eSIM and activation
Check that your phone model is unlocked and supports eSIM before requesting a iD Mobile eSIM. Set up on reliable Wi-Fi, keep the activation message secure and do not remove the old SIM until the change completes. Support for eSIM can differ by plan and device; confirm the specific route in iD Mobile app. If activation stalls, note the error shown and contact the provider directly to modify the account.
Is eSIM supported on this precise tariff and phone model?
Coverage and postcode checks
Start with the iD Mobile coverage map and the independent Ofcom checker. Enter your home, workplace and journeys. Outdoor predictions can look different from indoor reception; thick walls, local terrain, congestion and device bands all matter. A postcode estimate cannot confirm a signal inside a particular room. Ask whether a trial or return window applies to your exact offer.
What do the indoor results show at the addresses that matter to you?
Travel and roaming
Roaming limits, supported countries and fair use vary. Before travel, note the destination, the daily charge or pass, the amount of UK data you can use abroad and any fair-use cap. Calls from the UK to another country are usually a different product from using a phone while abroad. Turn on data roaming only after checking the applicable price and restrictions.
Are calls, messages and data included in the destination you will visit?
Monthly and annual costs
Read the contract summary for the service charge, any device repayment, upfront fee, planned price changes and out-of-allowance rates. Multiply recurring charges across the minimum term and add one-off fees for a baseline. Your actual bill can change through extra use, third-party services or contract terms. Use iD Mobile app for account information; we have no access to bills or payments.
What will month 1, a later month and the full minimum term cost?
Moving your number
To retain a UK mobile number, request a PAC from the network you are leaving by texting PAC to 65075, then give that code to the new provider. Confirm any unpaid handset finance and the expected final bill independently. A switch may complete later than a new SIM activation; keep the old SIM until your number transfers.
Is there a separate device agreement that survives the number transfer?
When a connection fails
Test another location, toggle aeroplane mode, restart your handset and check whether calls, messages and data all fail. Review the provider status page and whether the SIM is enabled in phone settings. For eSIM, avoid deleting the profile unless instructed by official support. A network incident, account restriction, device fault or poor local coverage can feel similar but need different fixes.
Does the problem follow the SIM, the phone or one location?
